Career value
The professional engineer license brings a lot of value that can’t be underrated. For instance, the core value of a PE license is not just the title however, the license demonstrates verified technical competence, experience, and commitment to ethical practice.
PE license allows engineers to sign and seal engineering documents such as drawings and studies. It opens doors to senior, lead, consulting, and engineer-of-records roles. It also has the potential of increasing earnings.
Moreover, it strengthens credibility with employers, clients, regulators, and project stakeholders.
In brief, the license has expands an engineer’s authority, credibility, leadership, opportunities, and long-term career options.
Cost of waiting
After talking with hundreds of engineers (both students, early careers, and professionals), one thing stands out. Over 82% of them had not taken either of the exams that opens the doors to professional engineer licensure.
But why wait for many years after school?
Delaying having your PE license has the likelihood of holding up promotions, lower earning potential, fewer leadership opportunities. You also delay your eligibility to signing and sealing authority with engineering packages where required and enforced by law.
In short, delaying only cost you more than you may think, the longer you wait, the more career growth and cumulative income you may leave on the table.

A Step Closer to Professional Engineer License
